KATHMANDU: The Meteorological Forecasting Division has reported that active monsoon winds, coupled with a shifting monsoon trough, are causing general cloud cover and light to moderate rain across Nepal.

Weather conditions are expected to intensify significantly overnight, bringing thunder, lightning, and heavy to very heavy rainfall to the hilly and Terai regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, alongside isolated areas in Madhesh, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim.

Due to the high risk of flash floods, landslides, and transport disruptions, authorities urge residents in vulnerable locations to remain highly alert.
