KATHMANDU: The country is currently experiencing a general cloud cover driven by active monsoon winds, with light to moderate rain already falling across several provinces.

Meteorological forecasts indicate that this pattern will persist through the day and night, bringing widespread moderate showers accompanied by lightning to hilly, mountainous, and plains regions.

Additionally, strong winds are expected in parts of the Madhesh, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim plains, while isolated areas in the hilly regions could face heavy rainfall.

Conditions are expected to intensify overnight, with multiple provinces, particularly Madhesh, Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki, on alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall.
