KATHMANDU: Nepal is currently under the influence of westerly and local winds, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

Due to this system, light rainfall is occurring in parts of Gandaki, Bagmati and Koshi provinces.

This afternoon, partly to generally cloudy conditions are expected over the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali provinces.

Some places in the hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi Province, and a few places in Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali provinces, may witness moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms.

There is also a chance of light rain and snowfall at one or two places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Madhesh, Lumbini and Sudurpashchim provinces, as well as in parts of the Koshi plains.

Gusty winds are also likely in some areas of the Madhesh and Koshi plains, while temperatures may rise in parts of Sudurpashchim and Lumbini provinces.

Tonight, generally cloudy weather is expected in the hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.

Karnali’s mountainous region and Madhesh Province are likely to see partly cloudy skies, while the rest of the country will remain mainly fair.

The department has also forecast light rain and snowfall with thunderstorms at a few places in Koshi Province and at one or two places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces tonight.

Gusty winds are also possible in some parts of the Tarai region today.
