KATHMANDU: The influence of western and local winds continues across Nepal, bringing cloudy conditions to the country’s hilly and mountainous regions, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.
The weather office said the hills and mountains are generally cloudy at present, while most Terai areas remain mainly clear.
This afternoon, partly to generally cloudy weather is expected over Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, as well as the hilly and mountainous areas of Lumbini and Karnali provinces.
Other hilly and Himalayan regions will see partly cloudy skies, while the Terai is likely to remain mostly clear.
There is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning at a few places in Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, and at isolated places in Madhesh and other hilly and mountainous regions.
Light snowfall is also possible in some Himalayan areas.The Division has also forecast hot daytime conditions in the Terai districts of Sudurpashchim and Lumbini provinces.
Tonight, Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces are expected to remain generally cloudy, while other hilly and Himalayan regions will witness partly cloudy conditions.
The weather office said isolated places in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces may receive light rain and snowfall accompanied by thunderstorms during the night.
