KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balendra Shah (Balen) has urged Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli not to jeopardize the country while attempting to undermine him.

“While trying to defeat me, please don’t sink the nation,” Shah wrote on Facebook Friday evening. He further stated, “Prime Minister, you are trying to defeat me by starving the people. I am only working to fulfill the dream of your own leader, Madan Bhandari.”

Shah, who won the mayoral election with a significant margin, has had a strained relationship with Oli. Though the prime minister gifted him a tabla after his victory, their ties have since grown cold.
