BAGLUNG: Dhorpatan Municipality in Baglung has distributed hand tractors to farmers to connect them with modern technology.

Farmers recommended by all nine wards of the municipality were provided hand tractors with a 50% subsidy. Considering the farmers’ demands and needs, the municipality made the hand tractors available, according to Chief Administrative Officer Chiranjibi Ghimire. He stated that 19 farmers from different wards received hand tractors.

Ghimire mentioned that the total budget for the hand tractors was NPR 992,000, which was shared between the farmers and the municipality. The cost of each hand tractor was NPR 52,000, with farmers paying NPR 26,000.

Dhan Bahadur Kayat, Deputy Mayor of Dhorpatan Municipality, stated that since most rural citizens are engaged in agriculture and animal husbandry, they were provided with modern equipment to make their work more commercial. The use of hand tractors in agriculture has been increasing in recent times.
