Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan has been granted relief in a 10 crore INR tax evasion case. The Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT) has ruled in Khan’s favour. Indian media reported that, the tribunal has quashed the proceedings initiated by the Finance Ministry in the financial year 2011/2012. The order stated that the actor had not paid tax in India on the remuneration he received from his film ‘Raa One’. The case dates back to 2012/13, when Shah Rukh Khan had declared 83.42 crore INR in his ITR.

The Income Tax Department had re-investigated the case on allegations that the actor had concealed the details and not provided complete information. The tribunal also said that the Income Tax Department’s reassessment of the case was not legally correct, leading to the actor Khan winning these claims.
