KATHMANDU: In a twist in the infamous 2012 assault case against Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, an arrest warrant has been issued against actress Malaika Arora for repeatedly not appearing in court as a witness. The case stemmed from a shocking incident at a five-star hotel, where Saif Ali Khan, his wife Kareena Kapoor, Sister Karisma Kapoor, and their friends had a heated argument with NRI businessman Iqbal Meer Sharma.

The fight turned sour when Sharma complained that Saif attacked him and said that Saif punched his nose, causing it to break. The fight Intensified as Sharma went into Saif’s room and physically attacked him. Amrita Arora, one of the key witnesses to the affair, confirmed that the fight erupted when Sharma started abusing Saif and his friends.

The situation spiraled out of control despite Saif’s apology. While Saif and his friends were initially arrested, they were later released on bail. Now, as the case progresses, Malaika Arora’s repeated absences from court have led to the issuing of a fresh arrest warrant. The next hearing is set for April 29.
