KATHMANDU: The stock market has declined on the first trading day of the week. Today, the NEPSE index fell by 3.44 points to close at 20620.39 points.
According to the NEPSE, the value of a total of 117 companies increased, while the value of 128 companies decreased. Shares worth 9.24 billion 5.583 billion were traded through 81,985 transactions.
Today, 21.95 billion 311 shares were traded. The transaction amount on Sunday is 130 million less than the previous day. Hydropower companies saw more trading today. This group took about 59 percent of the market share on Sunday. This group made a transaction of 5.44 billion 9.44 billion today.
All subgroups decreased except banking, development banks, hotels and tourism, production and processing, and non-life insurance. Trade, life insurance, and finance were the top subgroups that decreased. The share prices of Nepal Micro Insurance Company, Crest Micro Life Insurance and Om Megashree Pharmaceuticals increased by 10 percent, causing a circuit break. The share price of Wean Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha decreased by 10 percent, causing a circuit break.
Wean Nepal Laghubitta’s price decreased by 10 percent. Riverfalls Power’s price decreased by 7.55 percent and Bhugol Energy’s price decreased by 6.15 percent. Hydropower was the only company with the highest turnover. Based on the amount, 7 hydropowers were ahead. The 10 companies with the highest turnover were Sanima Hydropower, Ngadi Group, Radhi Vidyut, NRN Infrastructure, Api Power, HIDCL Promoter, Synergy Power, Himalayan Power Partner, HIDCL and Arun Valley Hydropower.
Today, Finance decreased by 1.30 percent, Investment by 0.86 percent, Life Insurance by 0.28 percent, Microfinance by 0.25 percent, Business by 0.84 percent and Others by 0.02 percent. Banking increased by 0.10, Development Bank by 0.06, Hotel and Tourism by 0.04, Manufacturing by 0.62 and Non-Life Insurance by 0.23 percent. Accordingly, the prices of the three companies increased by 10 percent. Upper Solu Hydro Electric by 9.84, and Support Microfinance by 9.04 percent.
Sanima Hydropower was the most traded company on Sunday. This company traded 604.8 million shares at 583 rupees 10 paisa per share. The second company with the highest share purchase and sale was Ngadi Group Power, which traded 551.4 million shares at 359 rupees per share.
