KATHMANDU: NEPSE sees modest decline; trading volume crosses Rs 7.5 billion
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index recorded a slight dip on Monday, falling by 5.21 points to close at 2,674.76.
According to NEPSE, a total of 171,60,625 shares of 337 companies were traded in 69,651 transactions, amounting to a total turnover of Rs 7.58 billion.
Among the sub-indices, the Banking sector rose by 0.17% and the Manufacturing & Processing sector increased by 0.79%.
However, all other sectors witnessed losses. Development Banks declined by 0.27%, Finance by 0.12%, Hotels & Tourism by 0.91%, Hydropower by 0.06%, and Investment by 0.15%.
Similarly, Life Insurance dropped by 0.20%, Microfinance by 1.50%, Mutual Funds by 0.08%, Non-life Insurance by 0.32%, Trading by 0.13%, and Others by 0.48%.
Om Megashree Pharmaceuticals Ltd posted the highest gain of the day, with its share price soaring by 9.99%. In contrast, Guras Microfinance witnessed a negative circuit break, recording the biggest drop.
In terms of transaction value, Radhi Bidyut Company Ltd led the market with a total turnover of Rs 643.1 million. Ngadi Group Power Ltd topped in traded volume, with 1,489,302 shares changing hands.
