KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index rose modestly by 0.85 points on Tuesday, closing at 2,675.62, following a decline of 2.97 points on Monday when it had dropped to 2,677 points.
Similarly, the Sensitive Index increased by 0.87 points, while the Float Index dipped slightly by 0.1 points. The Sensitive Float Index, however, rose by 0.30 points.
Tuesday’s trading session recorded a turnover of approximately 143 million shares across 318 companies, with a total transaction value of about NPR 6.53 billion, slightly lower than Monday’s turnover of NPR 7.58 billion.
During the day, shares of 85 companies gained in price, whereas 161 companies saw declines. Looking at the broader weekly trend, the NEPSE index has experienced mixed fluctuations.
Last week, it gained 19.04 points on Thursday to close at 2,688, after falling 7.94 points on Wednesday. However, in the current week, the index dropped by 8.57 points on Sunday and 5.21 points on Monday before Tuesday’s modest recovery.
Notable performers on Tuesday included Corporate Development Bank, Om MegaShree, Green Development, Bhugol Energy, and Pure Energy, all of which triggered positive circuit breakers during trading.
