KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index rose by double digits on Monday, gaining 21.76 points to close at 2,892.72.
The Sensitive Index, which tracks the performance of ‘A’ class companies, also climbed by 0.89%. A total of 311 companies saw transactions of 35.64 million shares worth Rs 16.32 billion.
This follows Sunday’s turnover, which had hit an 11-month high at nearly Rs 21 billion. All 13 sub-indices of NEPSE closed in the green today.
Development banks, microfinance institutions, non-life insurance, and the ‘Others’ group saw gains of over 1%, while the remaining sectors posted increases of less than 1%.
Among the top performers were Three Star Hydro, Trade Tower, Sanvi Energy, and Unnati Sahakarya Microfinance, with investors in these companies’ earning returns of over 9%.
However, Green Development Bank and Saptakoshi Development Bank hit negative circuits, while Corporate Development Bank investors faced the biggest loss of the day, shedding 9.96% in value.
