KATHMANDU:The parliamentary committee has concluded discussions with 17 lawmakers who proposed 55 amendments to the Land-Related Nepal Acts (Amendment) Bill.
The bill aims to revise three laws—Land Act 2021, National Parks and Wildlife Conservation Act 2029, and Forest Act 2076—allowing land development beyond existing limits and addressing landless Dalits and squatters.
The Agriculture, Cooperatives, and Natural Resources Committee is now preparing for internal deliberations.
The ruling coalition is pushing for fast-track approval, though it’s unclear whether wider stakeholder consultations will take place.
