TOKYO: Nepali music is set to enthrall international audiences at the upcoming Nepal Music Fest 2025, scheduled to take place across four major cities in Japan this August.
The grand festival will begin with a performance in Tokyo on August 3, followed by shows in Osaka, Fukuoka, and Nagoya.
Organizers say the festival is being launched with the aim of connecting Nepali music to the world, while promoting Nepali culture and community on an international stage.
Three leading Nepali bands—Swar, The Edge, and Cobweb—are set to headline the event with special performances.
Swar, known for its unique blend of traditional Nepali melodies and modern musical styles, will perform crowd favorites such as ‘Aparibhashit’, ‘Badal Sari’, and ‘Ma Mare Pani’.
The Edge, whose emotionally resonant and socially aware music has deeply connected with younger listeners, will make their appearance as part of their 25th anniversary celebration.
Cobweb, widely credited with revolutionizing Nepali rock music, is also expected to be a major highlight of the festival.
