LAMJUNG: A landslide near Naiche village in Marsyangdi Rural Municipality-6, Lamjung, claimed one life and left three others seriously injured on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Lagan Dhoj Gurung, approximately 44 years old, who was temporarily residing in Besisahar Municipality-8 and working at the under-construction 40.27 MW Super Nyadi Hydropower Project.

His permanent address is yet to be confirmed, according to District Police Chief Deputy Superintendent of Police Resham Bohora.

Police said the injured sustained head, limb, and body injuries, and are undergoing treatment at the Provincial Hospital in Besisahar.

The project management informed that around 40 workers were staying at the camp.

Four of them were caught in the landslide while attempting to flee as the slope began collapsing, while the remaining 36 workers are safe.
