KATHMANDU: Following pressure from players and football supporters, ANFA has now signaled plans to hold the Martyrs’ Memorial ‘A’ Division League this year.

Officials from the Football Players’ Association recently submitted a memorandum urging the All-Nepal Football Association (ANFA) to resume the league.

On Wednesday, ANFA sent letters to all 14 clubs in the ‘A’ Division, summoning them for a discussion on league organization scheduled for Bhadra 15.

The ‘A’ Division currently includes Manang Marshyangdi, Sankata, APF, Tribhuvan Army, Nepal Police, Church Boys United, Himalayan Sherpa, Friends, Machhindra, Jawalakhel Youth, NRT, Satdobato Youth, Planning Boys United, and Shri Bhagwati Football Club.

The last league was held in 2022/2023, with Church Boys United crowned champions.

Since then, the ‘A’ Division League has not been conducted.
