Dinesh Raut’s ‘Kumari’ kicks off filming

KATHMANDU: Director Dinesh Raut’s new romantic film, Kumari, has begun its 35-day filming schedule.

The shoot kicked off on Tuesday with a ceremony at the Bangalamukhi Temple in Patan, attended by the cast and crew.

The film stars Akriti Rajbhandari, who previously debuted in the film Jalaaki and gained fame from her role in Sushant KC’s music video Bardali.

This film also marks the debut of lead actor Abhishek Khadka.

The film is produced by Binish Entertainment in collaboration with Picture Frame, with Mahendra Adhikari serving as producer and Bikash Subedi writing the script.

The extensive cast includes Ghanshyam Joshi, Sunita Shrestha, Aakanksha Karki, Madhu Khadka, Sanam Shrestha, Saku Shah, Saroj Lamichhane, Manisha Sharma, and Bhupi Lohar.

Raut, who previously directed successful romantic films like I’m Sorry, November Rain, and Classic, went on to direct films with social themes such as Parva, Mahabhoj, Prasad, Prakash, and Pujar Sarki.

Kumari marks his return to the romance genre.

The crew includes Director of Photography Sushan Prajapati, Executive Producer Kedar Bhusal, Production Designer Aashika Sharma, Main Assistant Director Dinesh Bahadur Rawat, and Choreographer Kiran Thapa.

Music for the film will be composed by Kehar Singh Limbu, Suman Tamang, and Prashant Siwakoti.
