KATHMANDU: The Nepal Army has emphasized the need to gradually relax and continue the prohibitory orders and curfew imposed in the Kathmandu Valley to safeguard lives and property.
Based on the latest security assessments, the curfew and prohibitory orders in Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur will be eased in phases.
According to the Directorate of Public Relations and Information, the prohibitory order will remain in force on September 11 from 10 AM to 5 PM. The curfew will be enforced from 7 PM on September 11 until 6 AM on September 12.
The Army has announced that citizens will be allowed to move for essential purposes between 6 AM and 10 AM and again from 5 PM to 7 PM on September 11.
Essential service vehicles such as ambulances, hearses, fire brigades, and vehicles transporting food, fuel, milk, vegetables, water, and medicines will be permitted to operate.
Health workers, security personnel, journalists, and other service providers are also exempt. Government offices, banks, financial institutions, and public sector employees can travel to work by showing their official identity cards.
Likewise, passengers with valid tickets for domestic or international flights will be allowed to reach the airport. The Army has urged citizens to coordinate with nearby security personnel for necessary assistance.
For districts outside the Kathmandu Valley, decisions will be taken by respective District Security Committees according to local security conditions.
The Army further appealed to all Nepalis to cooperate with active security personnel, who remain committed to public safety and humanitarian response under all circumstances.
