KATHMANDU: Energy, Physical Infrastructure, and Urban Development Minister Kulman Ghising and Home and Law Minister Om Prakash Aryal visited the Supreme Court on Wednesday afternoon to inspect damage caused by fire during the Gen Z protest.
Minister Ghising stated that the fire had caused significant destruction to the Supreme Court premises.
He informed that authorities would proceed after conducting a detailed damage assessment.
Ghising added that the new Supreme Court building, currently under construction, is expected to be completed within four to five months, after which full services will resume there.
He further noted that the police have been instructed to quickly collect and manage items destroyed or damaged in the fire.
Following the arson during the Gen Z protest, the Supreme Court has been providing services from temporary tents set up within its compound.
