NAWALPUR: The Butwal–Narayangadh section of the East-West Highway has been fully blocked due to a landslide in Daunne, Triveni Rural Municipality-2, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East).

Janakaraj Banjara, Chief of the District Traffic Police Office, said continuous rainfall caused the landslide near the Painsatthi bend in Daunne, completely obstructing the road.

“The road became unsafe even for light vehicles, and trucks were getting stuck on the muddy stretch. The landslide this afternoon has now fully blocked the highway,” he added.

The Narayangadh–Butwal Road Project stated that traffic has been disrupted due to the blockage and repair work is underway to reopen the road.
