KATHMANDU: The Nepal School Employees Council (NSEC) today reached the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Kesharmahal, and put forth various demands before Education Minister Dr Mahabir Pun.
The Council requested Minister Pun to address the long-standing problems of school employees based on the past agreement signed with erstwhile governments.
On the occasion, Central President of the Council, Ganga Ram Tiwari, shared that Education Minister Pun assured of addressing the problems by holding discussion with them, saying the Minister knows well about the problems of school employees.
The Education Minister also urged the NSEC delegation not to expect much from the incumbent government as election is its main responsibility.
Bagmati Province Committee President of the Council, Ram Sharan Phunyal, mentioned that they suggested Minister Pun that the position of the school accountant having computer skill could be converted into quota computer teacher position, taking in positive light his the recent directive to make arrangement of a quota of computer teacher in every community school.
Though initiative was taken to address the problems of school employees in the School Education Bill, which is under consideration at the Federal Parliament, there is now no situation to pass the bill as the House of Representatives stands dissolved.
