ILAM: Heavy rainfall has triggered multiple landslides across Ilam, claiming at least 18 lives.

Rescue operations are ongoing as authorities struggle to reach the affected areas.

The hardest-hit area is Ghos in Ilam Municipality-5, where six members of a single family were killed.

Suryodaya Municipality-1, Manebhanjyang, reported five deaths, followed by Patigaun in Mangsebung Rural Municipality-1 with three fatalities.

Deumai Municipality-5 recorded two deaths in Dhusune and one in Dhare.

Fakfokthum Rural Municipality-3, Ratamate, reported one death.

Authorities, including the Armed Police Force, Nepal Army, and Nepal Police, have been deployed for search and rescue operations.

The toll may rise as teams continue to reach remote, landslide-prone areas.
