KATHMANDU: The impact of the Cyclone Montha, which started from the Bay of Bengal, is currently affecting most parts of the country.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM), rainfall is occurring in various places due to the partial influence of a westerly low-pressure system and Montha.

There is a forecast that it will rain in most cities of all provinces throughout the day today. The DHM also forecasts that it will rain tonight.

Rainfall has been occurring in the Kathmandu Valley since Thursday morning. The untimely rain is certainly disrupting daily life, and it has also increased the cold in Kathmandu.

Along with the rain, the DHM has requested people to avoid travelling to high-hilly and Himalayan regions of the country as much as possible, as some parts of these areas might experience moderate snowfall.

The Department has also urged farmers in those regions to take caution.
