KATHMANDU: As preparations for party unification between the CPN (Unified Socialist) and the CPN (Maoist Centre) intensify, CPN (UML) Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has called on those who had left the UML to return to the party.

In an emotional Facebook message on Friday, Oli claimed that the UML has always been at the forefront in defending democracy, national sovereignty, and the rights of the people.

He claimed that the UML has played a leading role in safeguarding the country’s independence, protecting democracy, and advancing development.

“The UML is not just a political organization,” Oli wrote, “it is a vast family built from the blood, sweat, tears, and hopes of the people.”

Oli further alleged that Nepal’s democratic constitution is under attack and that the country’s sovereign existence is facing serious challenges.

“At such a time, we cannot remain silent. To defend national unity and democracy, we must all move forward with one heart, one voice, and one direction,” he emphasized.

The UML chairperson urged all former leaders and cadres who had once contributed to building the party to return.

“Wherever you are, come back—return to your own home. This home was built with your sweat and blood,” he wrote.

“Let us once again stand shoulder to shoulder—let us protect the nation’s independence, defend democracy, and light the flame of happiness, prosperity, and hope in people’s lives. Let’s unite,” he added.

Reiterating his slogan of “Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali,” Oli appealed to everyone to strengthen the UML collectively, stating that national power will once again become decisive if the party unites.
