KATHMANDU: Despite the government’s lofty promises of modernizing agriculture, working farmers continue to be denied even the most fundamental necessities, including reliable fertilizer and irrigation. Yet they persist, sustaining their ancestral vocation with quiet resilience.

After completing the rice harvest during the Dashain and Tihar period, they have already plunged into preparations for the next planting, foregoing even the briefest respite.

A similar tableau unfolded in Dukuchhap, Lalitpur. Fresh from gathering their rice harvest, farmers were seen hurrying back to their fields with baskets of fertilizer, intent on readying the soil for the next cultivation cycle. Their labor endures, uninterrupted and unwavering.
