KATHMANDU: Janakpur Bolts and Chitwan Rhinos are competing in today’s first match under the Second Edition of Nepal Premier League (NPL) currently underway at Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground, Kirtipur, in the federal capital.

Chitwan has opted to bat first after winning the toss. Janakpur, at the bottom of the points table after losing four consecutive matches, wants to stay in the ‘playoff’ race by winning this game.

If defeated, Janakpur will be eliminated. Chitwan, having won two out of four games, wants to strengthen their playoff chances by winning this game.

Pokhara Avengers and Karnali Yaks will face each other in the second match to take place today at 4:00pm.

Nineteen matches have been completed so far since the competition started on November 17. The unbeaten Sudurpaschim Royals have become the first team to reach the playoffs with 10 points.
