KATHMANDU: Pokhara Avengers has set a 202-run target for Karnali Yaks in the second edition of Nepal Premier League (NPL) with Adam Rossington’s century.
Put to bat first after losing the toss at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground, Kirtipur, Pokhara gathered a mammoth first inning total of 201 runs for the loss of two wickets in the limited 20 overs.
This is the second high score in the ongoing season. Earlier, Biratnagar Kings had scored 220 runs against Pokhara.
Adam contributed 108 runs to Pokhara to present the big target for Karnali. Likewise, Jason Roy made 46 runs while Dhanjaya Lakshan contributed 23 and captain Kushal Bhurtel 18 runs.
Nandan Yadav and Mark Watt of Karnali took one wicket each. The march is crucial for both the team to reach to the ‘play-off’.
It will be easier for Pokhara – which has won only one in four matches – to set the play-off journey if it emerges winner in the match.
This march is in the ‘do or die’ stage for Karnali. In the first march earlier today, Janakpur had beaten Chitwan by six wickets.
