Minister’s directive to complete model headquarters construction works within deadline

NAWALPARASI:  Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, and Urban Development, Kulman Ghising, has instructed that the work on the model headquarters under construction in Nawalpur, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East), be completed within the scheduled time.

Today, while inspecting the construction site of the model headquarters located in Kawasoti Municipality-3 of the district, he instructed the contractor to complete the work on time without delay.

Minister Ghising, who also looks after the Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Ministry portfolio, had gathered information from the project about the current progress of the model headquarters.

He urged all the stakeholders not to delay the works, assuring that he would be proactive in removing any obstacles during the construction phase.

Information Officer of the Chitwan Dense Urban and Building Construction Project, Drona Katawal, provided information on the progress and status of the work carried out by the project so far.

He shared that although there were some technical problems in the initial stage of construction, there are no problems now. The construction of the headquarters began in 2019 on 187 bighas of land in Kawasoti-3, Nawalpur.

The project office has stated that buildings for separate offices are currently being constructed at the model headquarters construction site under two different contracts.

According to the master plan for the construction of the model headquarters, all offices under the federal and provincial governments, parking lots, gardens, a football stadium with a capacity of 25,000 spectators, a cricket stadium with a capacity of 15,000 spectators, staff housing, guesthouses, an assembly hall, a library, a cafeteria, among other structures, will be constructed here.

According to the preliminary master plan, the total cost of the project is Rs 16 billion 255 million and 390 thousand.
