KATHMANDU: Led by the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), Nagarik Daily’s executive office was padlocked on Wednesday amid ongoing labor disputes.

FNJ General Secretary Ram Prasad Dahal said the action, which did not disrupt publication or broadcasting, followed Nepal Republic Media Limited’s failure to implement a remuneration agreement signed on August 7, 2025, despite repeated negotiations.

“The management mistook our politeness for weakness,” the Federation stated.

FNJ has pledged to continue the protest until the agreement is enforced and plans a nationwide campaign on January 30, with provincial and district branches sending SMS messages to management as coordinated pressure.
