KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has fixed the foreign exchange rates for Monday. According to the rates determined by the central bank, the buying rate for one US dollar has been set at Rs 144.76, while the selling rate stands at Rs 145.36.
Similarly, the buying rate for one European euro is Rs 171.06 and the selling rate is Rs 171.77. The UK pound sterling is being traded at a buying rate of Rs 197.07 and a selling rate of Rs 197.89. The Swiss franc has been fixed at Rs 186.61 for buying and Rs 187.38 for selling.
The Australian dollar has a buying rate of Rs 101.57 and a selling rate of Rs 101.99, while the Canadian dollar stands at Rs 105.82 for buying and Rs 106.26 for selling. Likewise, the Singapore dollar is set at Rs 113.88 for buying and Rs 114.35 for selling.
For Japanese yen, the rate for 10 units has been fixed at Rs 9.21 for buying and Rs 9.25 for selling. The Chinese yuan is being exchanged at Rs 20.86 for buying and Rs 20.95 for selling. The Saudi Arabian riyal has been set at Rs 38.60 for buying and Rs 38.76 for selling, while the Qatari riyal stands at Rs 39.71 for buying and Rs 39.88 for selling.
According to the central bank, the Thai baht has a buying rate of Rs 4.60 and a selling rate of Rs 4.61. The UAE dirham is fixed at Rs 39.41 for buying and Rs 39.58 for selling. The Malaysian ringgit stands at Rs 36.67 for buying and Rs 36.82 for selling. Similarly, the South Korean won (per 100 units) has been set at Rs 9.89 for buying and Rs 9.93 for selling. The Swedish krona has been fixed at Rs 16.04 for buying and Rs 16.11 for selling, while the Danish krone stands at Rs 22.90 for buying and Rs 22.99 for selling.
NRB has also set the buying rate for one Hong Kong dollar at Rs 18.53 and the selling rate at Rs 18.60. The Kuwaiti dinar has been fixed at Rs 473.69 for buying and Rs 475.65 for selling. Likewise, the Bahraini dinar stands at Rs 383.98 for buying and Rs 385.57 for selling, and the Omani riyal at Rs 376.02 for buying and Rs 377.58 for selling. The Indian currency (INR 100) has been fixed at Rs 160 for buying and Rs 160.15 for selling.
The central bank has stated that these exchange rates may be revised at any time as required. It also noted that the rates set by commercial banks may differ, and the updated exchange rates are available on the official website of Nepal Rastra Bank.
