KATHMANDU: Holi, the festival of colors, is being celebrated in the hilly regions of Nepal on Monday.
In Kathmandu’s Basantapur, tourists from various countries joined locals in playing Holi, applying colors to each other.
The celebrations drew not only locals but also foreign tourists, all enjoying the festivities together. Groups of Nepalis and foreigners, dressed in white T-shirts, were splashed with red, blue, green, yellow, and other colors.
This year, however, the festive atmosphere is not as vibrant as in previous years since the House of Representatives election is scheduled to take place on March 5.
