MUSTANG. The Mustang Customs Office, located at the northern Nepal-China border point of Korala, has reported a collection of Rs 6.5 billion in revenue in the first eight months of the current fiscal year. The office, which became fully operational on September 16, 2025, has reported collecting a revenue of Rs 5.71 billion up until March 20, 2026.

Chief of the office, Ramesh Khadka, stated that during this period, goods worth Rs 12.17 billion were imported through the border point, while goods worth Rs 2.30 billion were exported to China. Mustang Customs Office Chief Ramesh Khadka said that customs clearance has been completed for 2,347 electric vehicles that have entered through the Korala check point to date.

Khadka also said that customs clearance has been completed for 1,804 cargo containers at the Mustang Customs Office.

After the Rasuwagadhi and Tatopani border points were completely closed due to landslides in July and August 2025, the Korala border point in Mustang was used as an alternative route.

Subsequently, the Department of Customs, Government of Nepal, fully operationalized the Korala border point, which had been used as an alternative. The Mustang Customs Office here, which used to collect an annual revenue of Rs 1 to 1.5 million, has been successful in collecting significant revenue since October 2025, the office said.
