NEPSE continues upward journey, market rises by 23.83 points

KATHMANDU: The upward journey of the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) continues. On the third trading day of the week, today (Tuesday), NEPSE has increased again.

On Tuesday, NEPSE rose by 23.83 points. Compared to the previous day, NEPSE increased by 0.81% today to settle at 2960.40 points. On Sunday, NEPSE had increased by 54.51 points, while on Monday, NEPSE rose by 5.01 points.

Today, the Sensitive Index also increased by 1.97 points to settle at 507.00 points. On a percentage basis, this is 0.39% higher than the previous day. The Float Index increased by 0.45%, while the Sensitive Float Index also rose by 0.47%.

In the share market on Tuesday, 35,822,191 unit shares of 341 companies were traded 126,947 times. Accordingly, the turnover on Tuesday amounted to Rs 14.839 billion. Compared to the previous trading day, the turnover amount decreased on Tuesday.

On the NEPSE this Sunday, a turnover of Rs 23.597 billion was recorded. Similarly, on Monday, the turnover was Rs 15.786 billion.

The share prices of 136 companies increased in the share market today. While the share prices of 117 companies declined, the share prices of 11 companies remained stable. Out of the 13 groups traded on the NEPSE on Tuesday, the indices of eight groups increased, while the sub-indices of five companies (groups) declined.

Accordingly, while the index of the Commercial Bank group rose by 0.67%, Development Bank by 1.38%, and the Finance group index by 1.51%, Hotels and Tourism decreased by 0.16%.

Similarly, while the sub-indices of Hydropower rose by 1.32% and the Investment group by 0.11%, the index of the Life Insurance group fell by 0.37%.

While manufacturing and processing increased by 0.86%, microfinance decreased by 0.45%.

The index of the mutual fund group increased by 0.25%. The indices of the non-life insurance group decreased by 0.38% and the other group by 0.16%, while the index of the trading group increased by 9.12%.

On the NEPSE this Tuesday, two companies hit the positive circuit breaker. Those hitting the positive circuit include Salpa Bikas Bank and Reliance Spinning Mills. In other words, investors in Salpa and Reliance companies earned 10%.

Similarly, the share price of Solu Hydropower increased by 9.99%. The share prices of Himalayan Power Partner and Bhujung Hydropower both increased by 9.98%.

On the other hand, investors of First Micro Finance suffered a loss of 6.56%.

In terms of turnover amount, Radhi Bidyut Company had the highest trading volume today at Rs 674.3 million. The final trading price of Radhi remained at Rs 905 per share.

Likewise, based on the number of shares traded, 2,027,992 units of promoter shares of Hydroelectricity Investment and Development Company were bought and sold. Its final trading price remained at Rs 229 per share.
