KATHMANDU: A cultural tableau exhibition was organized in New Road on the occasion of the New Year 2083 BS on Tuesday.

The New Road area came alive with vibrant cultural displays, including traditional Newari dances performed alongside the procession. With Baisakh 1 (the first day of the new year 2983 BS) declared a public holiday, large crowds thronged the area, not only for shopping, but also to witness the cultural performances.

Along with exchanging New Year greetings, members of the Newari community presented traditional dances and musical performances.

They also set up stalls featuring a variety of traditional Newari food and snacks that reflected their rich cultural heritage. Handcrafted items have likewise been put on display and offered for sale.
