KATHMANDU: Nepal News presents this week’s Shot of the Week: Mahabir Pun, founder of the National Innovation Center, former minister of education, and current member of parliament (MP), is often seen moving with books in hand. Wherever he goes, he carries them along, turning town squares and roadside gatherings into informal spaces of book sales and conversation.
On Nepali New Year’s Day (April 14) as well, MP Pun was spotted at Pulchowk, Lalitpur, personally selling copies of his autobiography Mahabir Pun: Samjhana, Sapana ra Abiral Yatra (translated as Memories, Dreams and a Continuous Journey) while interacting with supporters and taking photographs with admirers.
He has stated that more than 200,000 copies of the book have already been sold, reflecting an unusual blend of politics, storytelling, and grassroots engagement.
