KATHMANDU: Two children died after drowning in a water-filled pit near the bank of the Seuti River in Ramdhuni Municipality-6 on Wednesday afternoon, police said.

The deceased have been identified as six-year-old  son of Akash Chaudhary, and nine-year-old son of Abhinash Chaudhary, both residents of Dhedigaun in the same municipality.

According to police, the children were found unconscious after drowning in stagnant water collected in a pit near the riverbank. They died while undergoing treatment at Sanvi City Hospital in Labipur.

Police said further investigation into the incident is underway.
