KATHMANDU: A task force formed to prepare a discussion paper on constitutional amendment has urged Gen Z representatives to participate in positive dialogue, amid confusion over a planned interaction scheduled for Friday evening.

Task force coordinator Asim Shah said the committee aims to incorporate suggestions from all stakeholders and clarified that Gen Z representatives were invited for the same purpose.

Some Gen Z representatives had expressed dissatisfaction and threatened to boycott the discussion, citing unimplemented agreements with the previous government.

Shah, however, said those agreements are already in the implementation phase and that the formation of a Gen Z Council is in its final stage.

The task force said it will collect both oral and written suggestions and assured that no participant’s voice would be ignored.

The committee has been consulting stakeholders on key constitutional issues, including governance, the electoral system, and federalism.
