KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has appointed Professor Jayant Nath Khanal as its chief secretary.

Party chair Rajendra Lingden appointed Khanal to the post on Sunday under the party’s statute, according to spokesperson and publicity department chief Mohan Kumar Shrestha.

A statement issued by Shrestha said, “RPP chair Rajendra Lingden has, in line with the party statute, appointed Prof. Dr. Jayanta Nath Khanal as the party’s chief secretary. Dr. Khanal worked for a long time at Tribhuvan University. He is currently a central committee member and chair of the party’s affiliated academic council.”

Khanal had long been associated with Tribhuvan University and also served as a central committee member of the party and chair of its academic council.
