KATHMANDU: Revenue collection from house and land transactions has shown a steady rise in recent months, according to data from the Department of Land Management and Archives.

From mid-April to mid-May, land revenue offices across the country collected a total of Rs 6.26 billion, up from Rs 6.16 billion in mid-March to mid-April.

Of the mid-April to mid-May total, Rs 3.31 billion came from registration fees, Rs 2.55 billion from capital gains tax, Rs 344 million from service fees, and Rs 44.8 million from the Chief Minister Cleanliness Campaign Fund.

In comparison, during mid-March to mid-April, collections included Rs 3.22 billion from registration fees, Rs 2.52 billion from capital gains tax, Rs 360 million from service fees, and Rs 46.2 million from the cleanliness fund.

Earlier months also recorded lower figures, with Rs 4.14 billion in mid-February to mid-March and Rs 5 billion in mid-January to mid-February, showing a gradual upward trend in real estate transactions and related revenue.
