KATHMANDU: As the government presents the budget for the fiscal year 2026/27 in Parliament, significant interest and curiosity have been observed among citizens across the country.

Particular attention has been drawn to the budget as it is the first one introduced by the government led by the Rastriya Swatantra Party.

Many people, including the general public and stakeholders, have expressed expectations that the new budget will provide relief to citizens affected by rising inflation, unemployment, and increasing prices of daily consumer goods.

There is also growing belief that the budget will help revitalize the economy by contributing to production, infrastructure development, and job creation.

Citizens around the Parliament premises and in public spaces appeared eager to learn about the budget. Following its announcement, discussions and debates regarding its impact and implementation have begun at various levels.
