NEFEJ selects Nepal News scribe Bidhya Rai for Environment Journalism Award 2025

KATHMANDU: On the occasion of World Environment Day on June 5, the Nepal Forum of Environmental Journalists (NEFEJ) has decided to confer the Environment Journalism Award 2025 upon Nepal News scribe Bidhya Rai.

Rai is being honored with a cash prize and a certificate for her investigative and in-depth news reporting on environmental issues.

She becomes the 39th journalist to receive this accolade, which NEFEJ has been presenting annually for the past four decades.

The organization has stated that the award will be officially handed over during its upcoming Annual General Meeting.

Additionally, from among the remaining applicants, NEFEJ announced that five other journalists will be honored with the “Excellent Reporting 2025” certificate of appreciation for their commendable and noteworthy reporting throughout the year.

The recognized journalists include Mahesh K.C. from Kantipur TV (Rukum Purba), Sabita Budha from Ratopati (Dhangadhi), Hari Bahadur Lamjel from Annapurna Post (Dhankuta), Srijana Budhathoki from Nepal Samacharpatra (Surkhet), and Ghanshyam Khadka from Ukalo.com (Beni, Myagdi).

The organization has extended its heartiest congratulations to scribe Bidhya Rai and all the other honored media professionals.
