KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives on Monday demanded urgent government transparency over airspace breaches, border security and high-profile financial investigations.
Nepali Communist Party Chief Whip Yubaraj Dulal pressed for an official explanation regarding an unauthorized Indian Army helicopter flying through Nepali airspace over Darchula, reportedly carrying a high-ranking military official.
Concurrently, Shram Sanskriti Party lawmaker Harka Raj Rai demanded parliamentary accountability concerning Prime Minister Balen Shah’s border statements, while condemning Indian Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) activities in Susta and the subsequent arrest of youth protestors at Maitighar.
On the economic front, the opposition CPN (UML) challenged Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle following his warnings to review past administrative decisions.
Deputy Parliamentary Leader Padma Aryal dared the Finance Minister to immediately open investigative files on the controversial ‘GiribandhuTea Estate’ land issue, alongside the Yeti and Omni cases, to bring institutional transparency to light.
