SUDURPASCHIM: The Sudurpaschim Province government has announced a budget of Rs 37.70 billion for the upcoming fiscal year 2026/27, marking an increase of approximately Rs 4.20 billion compared to the previous year.

Presented by Economic Affairs Minister Bikram Singh Dhami at midnight following intense disputes and a boycott by opposition lawmakers over project allocations, the budget heavily prioritizes agriculture, infrastructure, healthcare, and education by funding initiatives like the “Bhimdatta Panta Farmer Award,” regional road networks, dialysis service expansions, and model school programs.

Financed primarily through federal grants, revenue sharing, and internal revenue, the budget largely continues existing projects rather than introducing major new programs, while also allocating significant grant portions to local levels.
