KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress has decided to strongly alert and hold the government accountable regarding its shortcomings and weaknesses.

General Secretary Pradip Paudel informed that a meeting of the Parliamentary Party Working Committee held at the Parliamentary Party Office in Singha Durbar on Saturday conducted an initial review of the government’s performance and decided to strongly hold the government accountable through the parliament.

He stated that the meeting discussed raising national issues, coordinating between the parliamentary party and the political party to effectively present public livelihood concerns in the parliament, and preparing MPs for these tasks.

General Secretary Paudel stated that despite the main opposition party continuously raising its concerns in the parliament, the government has failed to listen, and therefore, they will continue to keep a vigilant watch and issue warnings.

He expressed the view that the government has failed to achieve even 10 tasks in its first 100 days, adding that party leaders have been assigned the responsibility to study the work done by respective line ministries.
