CHITWAN: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is finalizing preparations for its first general convention, scheduled to kick off tomorrow (June 21) in Bharatpur, Chitwan.
Ahead of the major political event, the party’s Central Election Commission has officially released its detailed election itinerary, candidacy entry fees, and registration guidelines.
The initial phase of the convention will focus heavily on nominating internal leadership, building up to a high-stakes internal election for key positions.
According to the Commission, the preliminary list of convention delegates has already been published on the official party website.
Organizers have established a dedicated contact secretariat at the Chitwan Industrial Exhibition Center to process any disputes or claims regarding delegate eligibility.
Delegates have until 8:30 PM on June 21 to file claims or objections, with the finalized delegate list scheduled to be made public by 11:00 PM that same evening.
The candidate nomination process will officially begin on June 22.
Nomination form distribution will start at 1:00 PM, followed by an official registration window open between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM.
After a brief window for reviews, challenges, and candidate withdrawals, the final list of verified candidates will be published late that night at 11:00 PM.
The first round of voting for the crucial roles of party chair and central committee members will take place on June 23, running from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
Ballot counting is scheduled to begin exactly two hours after polls close, leading directly into the declaration of results.
According to Bhuwan KC, the chief of the Election Commission, specific candidacy fees along with the mandatory quotas for proposers and seconders have been dispatched to all participating members, while separate schedules for supplementary election rounds will be published later.
