BAGLUNG: The long-delayed construction of a bridge over the Bhujikhola River in Dhorpatan Municipality-5 has fallen into uncertainty after remaining incomplete for nearly a decade.
The abandoned structure has deteriorated significantly, with iron pillars rusting due to prolonged neglect. Locals say the project has wasted around Rs. 20 million in public investment while failing to provide the much-needed crossing.
The Road Division Office has terminated the contract with the construction company after repeated delays and failure to complete the work. According to Road Division Chief Hari Prasad Subedi, a new bridge design has been prepared and sent to the Department of Roads for approval before a fresh bidding process can begin.
Meanwhile, residents continue to face transportation difficulties, particularly during the monsoon season, as they await progress on the long-pending project.
