TANAHUN: The Gandaki Province Government’s Ministry of Agriculture, Land Management and Cooperatives has distributed subsidized agricultural materials to three local cooperatives in Tanahun to support increased food crop production.
The beneficiary groups include Bhanu Agricultural Cooperative in Bhanu Municipality-8, Jagriti Saving and Credit Cooperative in Ward No. 10, and Simalchaur Multipurpose Agricultural Cooperative in the same ward.
According to the District Agriculture Development Office, the support was provided under a 75 percent subsidy scheme, supplying seeds and essential farming tools to local farmers.
The program also included the construction of irrigation canals in the targeted areas to improve agricultural productivity.
The distributed materials included power sprayers, tarpaulins, and high-yield paddy seeds.
The assistance was jointly handed over on Saturday by Gandaki Province Assembly Member Ashok Kumar Shrestha and District Agriculture Development Office Chief Parshu Ram Adhikari. Adhikari said the subsidy program has been yielding positive results and expressed confidence that it would further encourage farmers to increase production.
