KATHMANDU: Ranju Darshana has officially withdrawn her candidacy for Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) General Secretary at the Chitwan convention, declaring to journalists, “As of today, my support and my vote go to Bipin Acharya.”
Her exit marks the sixth high-profile withdrawal, following Pramod Neupane, Ganesh Parajuli, Kabindra Burlakoti, Shisir Khanal and Jagadish Kharel, all of whom stepped aside to consolidate establishment support behind Acharya.
This rapid consolidation resolves the shifting tallies on the convention floor, streamlining a fluid candidate field down to just four remaining contenders.
Barring any further last-minute alignments, Acharya now holds a decisive advantage heading into the ballot against his three final challengers: Manish Jha, Ganesh Karki and Sagar Dhakal.
