KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court has scheduled June 30 as the hearing date for a habeas corpus petition filed on behalf of CPN (UML) Vice Chairman and former Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel.
Paudel’s wife, Domaya Paudel, filed the petition on June 24, claiming that he was being held under illegal detention.
Following a preliminary review, a single bench of Justice Shreekanta Paudel ordered the Office of the Attorney General to submit a written response by June 29.
Paudel was arrested in Surkhet on June 22 over allegations related to money laundering and later brought to Kathmandu.
