KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed a habeas corpus petition filed by Domaya Paudel challenging the judicial custody of former Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel in connection with a money laundering investigation.

A joint bench of Justices Binod Sharma and Nityanand Pandey rejected the petition, which challenged the Special Court’s order allowing the Department of Money Laundering Investigation to keep Paudel in judicial custody.

Earlier on Thursday, the Special Court granted the department permission to keep Paudel in judicial custody for an additional six days to continue the investigation.
